Kobolds are dragonkin-esque right? Or atleast some sort of lizard species. Well this is fine too I guess. Must touch fluffy tail!

Kobold's were tiny house and mine goblins in their original germanic lore. Not quite a gnome, not quiet a brownie. Their whole thing was being loyal domestic servants. The weird thing is how much they very from fiction to fiction. Dungeons and Dragon's (and every high fantasy setting that was inspired by D&D) portrays them as tiny lizard men. On the other hand, eastern fictions tend to treat them more like mammals. They're moles in FFXIV, rats in Warcraft, and popularly dogs in the Monster Girl community.

How about the Kobolds in EQ and EQ2? They are dog-like as well...

Talking about how Kobolds are portrayed in different things; in Vindictus kobolds are portrayed like werewolf-ish monsters.

Japanese mistook the kobold in the 1e D&D Bestiary as dog instead of lizard, and that's why we have Japanese dog kobolds.

They didn't mistake anything, in 1E D&D kobolds WERE dogpeople. They just suddenly became dragon groupies in later edition for some reason.
