I personally think it's a pity that some people can only think as epic when godlike beigns fight other godlike beigns. This kind of fight can be cool and amazing at first but can also be a little boring sometimes. Because when the character is so godlike over-powered you already expect him to do something overly powerful and when he blows up a mountain with a giant laser beam from his little finger from his foot is just "meh". You don't need someone with the infinity gauntlet to be epic you don't need gods vs gods fights to be epic. You just need to know how to catch the viewers by surprise with something new or at least rare at some point and exploit it as much as you can. I mean how many times did you saw a bare handed loli take on the big bad wolf with punch against punch? And Wolfrun seems to be enjoying the fight with Sunny wich makes the scene even more amazing. True Epicness is much less about absurd super powers and much more about what the scene tells you and how it tells you.
