Yeah, Rosalina being the shortest is just wrong. In Smash alone you can see she's taller than Palutena.

Smash really isn't a reliable source of info when it comes to a character's height. Just look at how fucking huge Sonic and especially Olimar and Alph are.

That's true but Sakurai emphasized Rosalina's height in a Miiverse update for a reason. In Smash and in most other games she's in, she's tall as hell.

It's one thing for Olimar to be sized up, but he's still one of the shortest on the roster. Rosie is like third tallest in Smash, behind Ganondorf and Bowser I think.

Palutena also just isn't all that tall. You can look at her model in Uprising, she's only a little taller than Pit.

The heights are defiantly inaccurate. Tifa's like 5'4" and Bayonetta is 8'.

Palutena is also quite tall in Mario Kart 8. In fact, she's one of the heavier classes and is the second heaviest female character in the game just below (ugh) pink gold Peach.

By estimation to Mario's height, Rosalina's about 7'2" if I remember correctly.
Meanwhile none of the team in FF7 breaks 6'.
