Twilight_Jester; the gun was made litteraly by the bandits in the game, whom make cheap, flimsy guns that have large ammo capacity.

Anon; part of the game mechanics itself are the guns. there are at least 9 manufactuers of gun in the game. (10 in the first one but the last group of vault hunters made them go bankrupt).
