Obviously she distanced herself from the team because she perceives that as "saving them" because Adam promised to destroy everything she loves. He's the terror that haunts her nightmares, a stigma she can't seem to be rid of, and she can't even begin to imagine him ever being defeated. So instead of fighting a battle she thinks cannot be won, she runs away.

True, but that doesn't mean that the Team doesn't need her. In an odd way, she left them because she didn't want them to get hurt by Adam, but (indirectly) left them to die.

My point is the Team still needs her, now more than ever.
