Anon 5, it is because the ending was rushed up and completely out of context.
One moment they were fighting against Madara and Obito over wheter humanity could achieve peaceful coexistence or if putting everyone into the Matrix was the only solution.
Then alien rabbits with magic fruits took over, made all conflict into a stupid manipulation from a black blob and finally washed Sasuke's entire character into forgetting everything about the injustices which killed his clan and just accepting Naruto because deep down he was a lonely kid.
Case in point, it was a crappy ending which ignored all previous development for an esoteric resolution.
And that's not even getting into the immorality of forcing people to pay for a movie because you didn't bother to solve the romance sub-plots.

In addition to the Anon above me, Naruto Shippuuden chapter 700 was an absolute joke, and a lot of shit before was almost just as bad as that farce of an ending. And the movies canonically after the series were trashy cash grabbers with bad plot and "power of friendship/bonds" bullshit, plus some random ass characters we never heard of who were apparently super uber powerful for no reason at all other than "because villain".
