No, not really. English voice acting is cheesy and awkward for this sort of thing and isn't very enjoyable to listen to. I think I actually prefer this without sound.

All voice acting is cheesy and awkward for this sort of thing. You just can't tell cheesy voice acting in Japanese because you don't speak it natively. A native Japanese speaker can tell that Japanese voice acting is just as bad as English voice acting.

Except voice acting in Japan is much more of a vocation than it is in the west. More skill required from the actors, more rigorous selection between them.
