I don't understand why character fanart seems to come in waves. It's great, but also weird. One day it's Marley, then Misty, etc. now Courtney. Ten bucks to the guy who can guess who's next!

^it depends on the uploader's mood. if one of us happens to like certain pokemon character, he/she will floods gelbooru with that character's fanart until he/she feels satisfied/tired.
one way to break the streak is to upload other character than the happening streak.
