If type advantages mattered in the anime, the battles would be terrible to watch.

How do they disregard type advantage in this clip?

If they actually cared about type advantages in the anime, this fight would be Ash-Greninja spamming Aerial Ace until the cows come home. And you'd bitch about that too. So fuck it, it's a lot more entertaining this way.

That said, given that he uses Aerial Ace in a really cool way, I guess it wouldn't be THAT bad.

Also about caring about types : water shuriken is working, really ? Against a grass/dragon type ?

Last time i checked neither grass nor dragon were immune to water type. They are just resistant.

Resistant means it still just tickles, unless there's a serious power gap between the combattants themselves. More often than not it's not the case though, so yeah, it's not caring about type advantaging. Which i understand, it's an anime and not a video game here.

Still, if you're not convinced, how about Pikachu electrocuting ground types on multiple occasions ? Sometimes it does not work very well but still works a little, showing burn marks on the defender, and sometimes it even works and defeats the defender (usually with the help of scenario context or it would be even more bullshit)

Pikachu hasn't done that in years.
