At least you can look forward to Federation Force, a game where one of the first female video game characters is replaced with generic space marines and the exploration-based gameplay is replaced with mindlessly shooting enemies and soccer balls into goals.

On a happier note, however, AM2R has finally been released today and you can't call yourself a Metroid fan if you don't get it. It's free and it's a lot more Metroid than anything Nintendo is working on.
