That's super not true, you can indeed get out of its grab. Me and a friend both managed to break free on our playthroughs. I think the key factor is distance to Frog.
We were grabbed at a far distance and when we were about 5 feet away from it we broke free. But I'd imagine getting grabbed this close up doesn't give you enough button mashing time to break free.
