Fun fact: in Japanese, the word for blue (ao) also means green. Green has its own separate word, but it's very frequent to refer to, say, the color of pine trees as ao. Green traffic signals are also called ao.
It may be baffling to us English speakers that the color of pine trees and the color of the sky would be considered to be shades of the same color, but to people who speak Russian, it's just as baffling to them that we don't consider blue and light blue to be completely different colors.
