Highly doubt that this is 'love'. More like Ran got spotted and raped from one of the men in black thanks to her brainfucked selfish like crap boyfriend! The series made no sense at all and the worst of all characters being conan. No way he'll survive the search for a mafia, not even in his grown up version. This organisation he's after is no enemy for a detective but for a government agency! He's hurting Ran permanently for nothing than selfishness. She should dump him for good.

He's trying to find the Organization to try and find a way to turn himself back. He knows he can't fight up against them, but he's trying to do what he can and he first needs to learn about them. As for why the series makes no sense, the time frame of the series doesn't really match up.
Conan/Shinichi is not being selfish, he's literally doing all this to try and turn back while at the same time try and take down this organization (because what's the point of turning back to normal if you're enemies aren't dealt with?)
