Excuse me, who's cutting here? Because I can't hold back these tears.

Gohan's training and teaching... Future Trunks' efforts and Bulma's importance as a scientist when martial arts and ki blasts weren't enough... were all for nothing. This universe got obliterated. I don't care how amazing you might think Zamasu's Arc was... That it makes all of the above a fruitless effort for the sake of continuing what was already well closed is an offense to Dragon Ball fans everywhere. You're welcome to like Super. Go ahead. But it has no shame, nor does it care about your love of the lore it reboots, retcons, slanders, and often chooses to simply ignore. If you watch Z, and you see the words, "Hope" written on the side of that time machine... know that in the end... it ended with the push of a button. That's how Super rolls.

Like I said, you're welcome to like Super, but it has no shame. If you believe that making Future Gohan's sacrifice worthless as well as putting Future Trunks in a position in which all his efforts ended in complete failure is somehow a fantastic continuation, I'm not going to argue your tastes. You're exactly the fanbase that Super wants, and I doubt that bothers you, which wouldn't be shocking and doesn't hurt anyone. But Super does hurt its source material in the very methodology it presents as supposed homage to the material it then proceeds to abuse for profit. Liking Super is fine; ignoring what it did to the Android and Cell Saga's of Z is not. It took a nice huge dump on the entire premise, and for some, its a work of art. I'm just not one of those people. And like you, I'm fine with where I stand on that.

I'll continue watching, mildly hopeful with what it does right, but not blatantly ignorant of what it does wrong. I found nothing of lasting substance in how they handled Super's continuation, but if you did, great. We have very different standards is all. It's likely I'm holding Super to too high a bar, because as I see it, the only good thing it did aside from finally add decent art into Super's previously crap lineup was answer how Trunks handled the Buu issue. Everything else could have been handled much better.

Toriyama made it happen so blame him for making something bad happen to your favorite character. "Super" isn't a person.

and if you wanna call us idiots then just do it, don't be so passive-aggressive about it. Liking Super has nothing to do with that Gohan nonsense you're on about. That's a completely separate topic for those who care about that sort of thing.

I never said anyone was an idiot because I see no reason to say so, as I don't believe that. Super is not a person; it is a portion of a franchise and addressing it as a whole rather than pointing fingers at a man who has little control over the material being presented - proven time and time again - is inaccurate as hell, but easy to fallback on if you want to make yourself sad. It still wouldn't make you right, yet being wrong doesn't make you dumb, either. Different views, and you're welcome to yours.

Mistaking blatant honesty as a tone of discontent with someone isn't new on the internet, but you shouldn't assume that's the case because you don't like what you here, or because you disagree with it. Then again, do what you like, I suppose.

Either way, if you can look at this image, read what I've said both before and now, and come away thinking the two issues are in no way interconnected, then addressing you further would be an exercise in futility.

^ Reviewing this kinda late, but this stuck out at me...
First you say, "You're exactly the fanbase that Super wants, and I doubt that bothers you", then you say, "I never said anyone was an idiot because I see no reason to say so, as I don't believe that"
You don't have to use the actual word 'idiot'; it's clear that was part of the meaning your reply. Writing at length on the subject only furthers this reality. We can read between the lines.
