And so Gohan took his fall in the tournament, and it was rather light in dramatics and like many instances within this arc, seemingly without luster.... Except... you know... it was nice to see that Gohan finished an opponent by doing what his father did against Raditz at the beginning of Z - letting a former enemy turned temporary ally end him and the enemy. I think that was actually a really nice touch. But... sadly... Super keeps using nostalgia to skate by with me while also trying to change so much that didn't need changing as well as adding things that don't always pay off. Especially when I wanted so much more.

Of course, that's my own damn fault and I accept that, so grievances aside, it wasn't a complete shitfest doing it how they did. All in all... I think at least Chi-Chi would have been proud of him. He saved the Earth, once, and he's a great father with a solid education. And that's just gonna have to be enough. I feel like Trunks did, shocked and kinda upset but really it's just nice to see him still able to put on a gi and do some work.
