Funnily enough, I remember this one scene in a Pokémon/Digimon crossover fic where this outcome happened. Differences being that Kari was older, Jessie and James were also on the receiving end, and it was caused by Meowth hitting on Gatomon while Jessie and James were trying to steal Pokémon from a Pokémon Center.
