I'm so used to the old art style of DB. I don't know how to feel about this...

I see we've regressed to One Piece detail levels... for all the youngins out there, go watch the classic movie Return of Cooler. Like 2 decades ago and it had better more detailed art... "Movies always have better visuals" you say? Okay, go watch the 2nd Goku vs. Vegeta fight from the Buu saga. TELL ME shit hasn't regressed artistically since then. Whatever, guess I'm just an oldfag now, but good shit is always good.

"Art style" "Art quality" and "Animation" are different things. The animation and art quality usually varies episode by episode. People always remember best (or worst) examples and forget the rest. The art style can change after an arc or 2.

Sayian/Namek arc
Cell/Buu arc

This is why dbzkai sucked so bad, not only were the animations off, but the acting as well. Wanna know why DBZ remains the anime of legend? 90's art style baby. And it still remains the best of all anime history.

Some of you don't really know your shit, do you? This is a straight callback to Minoru Maeda's style, something that you won't remember if you never watched the original DB. In movies such as The Dead Zone and The Tree of Might you could see this sort of designs being accompanied by some great animation, thanks to the talent of animators such as Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru. These new designs are meant to be animation friendly.

... I'm sorry, but... is this fan art? What is this even from? It almost looks like a copy-paste, given the disparity between backdrop and character.

Making something just to cut corners is hardly noteworthy. The fluidity is awesome, sure, but it feels out of place. It's like those old cartoons where you knew what was going to happen due to how some objects were clearly on a different layer entirely. It's not bad, just... cheap.
