Don't get too excited about this, people. According to the episode data, Ash caught Poipole to keep an eye on it until they can find the Ultra Wormhole it came from. So that means Poipole will most likely be released at some point. So even if Ash evolves it, he will most likely release it when they find its Ultra Wormhole. So once again it'll prove that Ash isn't allowed to have nice things.

On the flip side, bit of trivia here: Poipole is the first Pokemon Ash as caught in something other than a standard model Poke Ball since Totodile, and his first Poison-type since Muk (not counting the temporary Beedrill during the Bug Catching Contest).

I think Poipole will evolve eventually, if only so they can show off Naganadel sooner or later. Figures they wouldn't ultimately keep a Pokemon like this one, though.
