Because Satoshi IS his name. However, I guess if the characters don't have their "filthy, slant-eyed" name removed and replaced with "gloriously awesome" Western substitute, the world would come to an end.

I now see what the initial poster meant. "Ash" is in the subtitles (aka: Satoshi). So you were questioning why Satoshi is in this at all.
