Even if they did make it now, Inafune isn't at Capcom any more and probably most of the team isn't either. Do you want MMX to turn out like Konami making Metal Gear zombie games after Kojima was fired?

The point is that every time the X series changed production teams the next game fell off. The first two games were made by the original team and both are considered exceptionally good. A new team made X3 which dropped off considerably in every measure except graphics. By X4 they'd figured it out and made an excellent game. Then they switched to a new team again for X5 which made massive changes to the gameplay formula and wasn't received as well and then rushed out X6 which was even worse. Then they changed AGAIN and absolutely cratered the series with X7 before managing to somewhat claw back to respectability with X8. If they made a new X game now, it'd be people who possibly weren't even born when the first game came out.
