Whether you call it lazy or not, an artist has every right to request, or leave an option available for financial support from the people who enjoy their work. Art is a job, after all. One that takes a lot of time and effort to create, whether it's a few frames or a longer animation.
Besides, the quality of his art speaks for the lack of quantity in terms of frames. A long animation doesn't mean shit if it's not good.
