@Anon1: Because it's portrayed as a bad thing here & she's only obeying because she's under mind control, whereas a modern show would have her obey because she's female & he'd succeed in raping her offscreen but he'd join her team right afterward & be one of the "good guys". He'd then outshine her in her own show.
