I'd like to remind everyone that posting spoilers without enclosing them in spoiler tags is a bannable offense.

Tags that would be a spoiler should only be used on posts that already qualify for the "spoiler" tag.

Then implement a spoilered tag feature because that's fucking dumb. This is an image board, not an anime discussion forum.

...That feature has been implemented for at least 7 years now.
See?

I'm not talking about "spoiler tags" that let you spoiler things in your comments or posts. I mean post tags that work the same way. Unless they already do. Do they? It doesn't say that anywhere, and I've never seen them used.

How do you use spoiler tags?

The tag "spoilers" is used for posts with visual content that would be a spoiler. Users who don't want to see posts that contain spoilers can blacklist the tag, which will also prevent them from seeing the tags that would be a spoiler (since they won't see the post at all). There would be no point in hiding just the tags that would be spoilers, since if they were applicable to the post, you'd be able to see it in the image, so hiding the tag wouldn't do any good. Again, if the actual visual content of the image isn't already a spoiler on its own without looking at the tags, no tags that would be a spoiler should be added to the post. That means that posts of Lily should only be tagged as "trap" if visuals or text in the actual image depict or state that she is. Posts that don't actually visually reveal this fact should not be tagged "trap" - period.

The blacklist feature is available for all users, even those who have not registered an account.

That's a completely separate issue from posting comments that contain spoilers, though. Posting comments that contain spoilers has always been a bannable offense.

You can mark spoilers in your comments by using the following tags, removing the extra spaces before and after the brackets:

[ spoiler ] spoiler goes here [ /spoiler ]

No? Not always. Like in this exact case.
Maybe someone wants an image of a girl, but they never watched the show, should it be fine to deceive them? I think it's more important to provide correct tags than to avoid spoilers. But if we had spoilered tags, that wouldn't be a problem.
If the image itself is a spoiler, you use "spoilers", if a tag is correct but is a spoiler, you spoiler the tag.

Yes, it is fine to deceive them, and in the case of spoilers, you are required to do so.. Avoiding spoilers takes priority.

No, it's not. That's retarded. They just want an image. The spoiler isn't even a real spoiler for them, since they'll probably never watch the show. But then they post the pic somewhere and oops, it's a guy. I don't see how anyone would like that. Just like people can refuse to blacklist the "spoilers" tag, they should be able to see the correct tags on an image, whether it's a spoiler or not.

This isn't up to you. This is site policy, and it isn't up for debate.
