There may be lots of off-screen interactions (since her interactions with Nora and Ren where plain too, but they are really close in Vol. 4). Also Pennys dead would propably have triggered the silver eyes too, but there were no Grimm close by that time.

ok I have to ask why can't they just rebuild penny she's a robot I mean both aigis and the reploids from the x series get injured or die and can still be brought back so why can't she?

Anon2 It isn't so much that she can't be rebuilt. A new Penny-bot technically wouldn't be that hard. The problem lies with how Penny's consciousness was made. She says herself that she's the first artificial lifeform capable of generating an Aura. Auras are tied to a soul. When she was ripped apart, her soul was gone.
