She's the realtype route original for Super Robot Wars Z, it uses seed destiny.

Shinn and Setsuko become good friends during the storyline of Super Robot Wars Z. The pair also become good friends with Kamille from Zeta Gundam.

The reason this cartoon makes sense is the pair's friendship is a major part of her storyline, and it ends up becomming a romance if I remember correct.

No, not really. Shinn and Lunamaria are still tentatively together, but Shinn and Setsuko are very close friends.
