Okay, I may sound like a newb, but I'm a huge fan of the Excel Saga anime, seen it like 6 times over, but why the hell wasn't this awesome "elgala" in the series???? Is she a manga only character? Did the anime end before she showed up in the manga? I mea wtf. She looks so awesome, fsss.

the manga continues after the anime, she is a character in the next volume i think, something like that. I know this guy ^ wont see this but just in case anyone else wanted to know. Correct me if i'm wrong.

Another year later... Yes, the anime was started when only 2-3 books were published, and there wasn't a whole lot of anything to base it on. Hence why they gave up any kind of story and just let Nabeshin fuck it up as he liked. The story takes a while to get started in the manga as well, but Elgala comes in in book 7, and from there things are starting to roll for real. Towards the end it has a real complex and interesting story with a lot of characters, layers and secrets. And "Kasumi "Elgala" Munakata" is indeed very awesome and entertaining.
I'd really love to see a new, proper anime version of ES now when it has ended... But that's never gonna happen, sadly.
