You know, she could just be heavily drugged up so that she doesn't feel a thing, or turns the pain signals in her brain into pleasure signals.
That would be quite horrible though. I prefer to think that she really does get pleasure from it and truly enjoys it.
It's not real, but I mean the idea would be quite horrible, for in real life there's a lot of drugs (illegal and pharma) that make people feel GOOD when they are cut, wounded, even disemboweled or dismembered.
Meth is one example of a drug that can cause extreme cases of this (people have disemboweled themselves -- among other things -- while on the drug, and it felt good for them)
Now THAT is very sick and wrong, since it fools the person, and she or he does not actually want any of it at all.
Also, ALL psychiatric pharma drugs that doctors give to people cause altered (false) mental states, that often (and in varying degrees and severity) make people hurt themselves and being unable to stop -- sometimes it even feels good, but in most cases it feels like a total hell -- and very often they lead to suicidal thoughts and death-longing.
