It’s weird how I didn’t notice before but Dragon Ball always seem to skip or avoid all the major romantic set ups.

Chi-Chi and Goku meet as kids. She shows up again near the end as a young lady all grown up and there’s a little exploration of the two as a couple and their marriage. Next we see them, they have a kid.

Bulma and Vegeta show some tension during his training. Fast forward and she has a kid.

18 sees Krillin doing something nice for her? Fast forward to kid.

Videl starts to like Gohan? Kid.

I know that romantic relationships aren’t really a strength or focus of the series and its writer but it’s crazy how you rarely see the progress and development of a relationship. It just sort of starts followed by time skip and they already have a child. It really wouldn’t surprise me if the next time we see Broly and Cheelai, there’s a kid there.

I can’t wait for another time skip where Trunks and Mai who’re a thing I guess to get married and have child. Probably won’t even mention for the entire time that they’re together that she was already a grown woman when his mother was still supposed to be schooling or she will tell him and he’ll be surprised for two seconds and move on never mentioning it again because that’s how people behave and work in this series.

How seriously would a normal girl like Videl’s world be shaken to know that everyone has died before, Roshi’s immortal, aliens, time travel, afterlife and all this crazy fucked up business is real? Apparently she’s cool with it, don’t even worry about it. Hawkeye once said none of this makes sense about one of the whatever movies he was in but I’m here watching Dragon Ball thinking that man ain’t seen shit yet.
