Is the pink supposed to be eye-liner or a mask layer?
I only ask because Ganto's skill is admirable and it'd shed some light on how he works.

The pink is the inner part of the eye lid. If you look at your eye lid in the mirror, the parts that come together have a sort of pinkish look to them. Since we're looking down at her, you can see that part. Remember, eyelids are 3-dimensional, too.
