And even in those circumstances its not her lack of skill that gets her caught, its usually someone else getting caught putting herself in an unwinnable position. But it is her skills that gets her out of said circumstances.

I don't think thats actually true, its implied in the series that besides the games shes successful on all her missions. Thats why the Underground fears her as a demon. And even in those circumstances its not her lack of skill that gets her caught, its usually someone else getting caught putting herself in an unwinnable position. I think you're forgetting about the prequel though. It's Asagi's most recent Vn that is supposed to take place before the main 3 games, although I haven't played that one yet, but presumably she gets caught and raped in that one too.
I still think she's terrible at her job, but she's definitely the least terrible in universe. I mean if I were in the military and my commander had been captured at least 4 different times then I don't think I'd feel very confident in their abilities.

Actually I'm incorrect. I just remembered that in TA2 was the only time she got captured due to losing a fight. But I'm pretty sure she was ambushed and taken off guard due to Saya's Demon form. Later she gains her own Demon form making her once again the top dog.
