I've always wondered why Saya never thought to apply the transformation she used on Yoh in reverse on herself--transform herself to seem human--then fix Fuminori's brain for an ideal ending. I mean, I get that the plot called for either everything to absolutely go to shit, Fuminori and Saya being forever separated after she fixes his brain, or Koji being the lone, broken survivor who sacrificed his sanity to save the world from Saya, but in-universe?
