The funny thing is that I heard on ThatGuyWithTheGlasses that the creator of Trigun is a fan of western superheroes and that Spider-man is his favourite, so this little match-up is kind of Ironic.

Yeah, but That Guy With The Glasses sucks fucking ass, so that's kindof a m00t point. Also, this isn't ironic; it's coincidental.

Now while I've been a fan of Spider-man my entire life and have many Spider-man comics dating back decades I question the authenticity of the votes I've read.

Peter has at times shown questionable judgment and depending on the obscure circumstances that would bring these two into a verses battle may be willing to kill. Vash on the other hand would be unwilling to kill Spider-man.

Both have remarkable speed and agility however it would really depend on which Spider-man and Vash were in this fight. Is Vash manga or anime accurate, because that determines what abilities he has. Then which Spider-man is this, and what experience has he had?

I if calculating gun (including angel arm for offensive as a cannon and defensive as wings)vs. webbing (for maneuverability and hinder-ability), Plante vs. mutant, genius level intellect, knowledge of technology which defies the known laws of physics and over a century of combat experience vs. genius level intellect, physicist and numerous battles against a variety of super villains, super sense vs. spidiey senses, and simply taking into consideration their win loss ratios. I am going to have to give the battle to Vash the Stampede.

i agree with wetmellon, Vash is very different in terms of which medium he's coming from, as well as Spidey. manga Vash is actually much more powerful then his anime counterpart and his power is pretty immense. he's tragically destroyed a lot of cities from losing control over them. almost like was a living bomb so he has a lot of power even more than Spidey. as for his marksmanship it's very high class. Spidey can sense it coming but he might not be able to dodge it.

Spidey sense that close isn't going to help him if he gets it in the head or heart. However, if that kick lands, I doubt Vash will survive that drop, whether onto the stands that hold up the statue or a massive splat into the waters below; there's a reason why belly flops sting kiddies.

Okay, people can stop bringing up the angel arm, as I really don't think it'll be in play, no matter what. First, I've only seen the anime, so have no idea what these defensive capabilities are, but Vash has never, and will never, used that gun on purpose offensively. He knows it'll wipe out New York, and so he's going to die rather than use it (not that it'll come to that, but there you go.) As for manuverability, spidey has less of an advantage than you'd think, since the statue of liberty is basically isolated, there are no buildings of significant height within webbing range. Since all he can web swing around is the statue itself, anything he can web, Vash can probably just grab and swing anyways, which brings me to people saying that spidey has an agility edge. Which anime were you guys watching? Spidey dodges bullets because he has ESP, and knows where they're coming from, plus he's agile. Vash dodges bullets because he's JUST THAT FAST. I'd have to say they're equals in agility at worst, favor Vash more likely. Spidey does have the edge in pure strength, but Vash isn't a purely ranged fighter. As early as episode 6 we see him going toe to toe against some Voldo knock off, and winning handily. As for intelligence, Vash is smart in techy stuff, but Spidey is clever. He's always fighting villains who are "smarter" than him (doc ock, Norman Osborn, random evil mad scientis #8, etc.) and still outwitting them by thinking not just outside, but around, over, and through the box. Finally though, we do come to the experience factor. It's really important, as even spider-man points out how full of fail he was when he first started super-heroing, and wasn't very experienced. Well, Vash has nearly 2 centuries of living on a planet where everyone wanted to kill or capture him, not to mention dealing with a brother who was just as powerful as him ALSO constantly trying to bring him down. Experience, and probably the fight, go to Vash. And as a parting word, I never thought I'd be having this conversation on a porn site, awesome.
