Another tale lost in translation...

Andromeda (or any other virgin girl) will have her virginity sacrificed to the Kraken, who will eat her out.

Stupid translators and people not retelling thestory properly left out very important words, like 'virginity' and 'out', thus making people believe the girls were food.
