It's because Orihime's character was literally designed on an inverse function. As her character design gets better, her personality gets worse.
Generic schoolgirl clothes -> Cute and bubbly comic relief.
Pink t-shirt and track pants -> Fading into background character status, but still enjoyable.
Black Soul Society outfit -> Adds nothing to the story.
White Arrancar outfit -> Recurring captured princess archetype that subtracts from the story.
White Arrancar outfit (with Ulquiorra pairing) -> Why the fuck did I ever like this character?

It should've ended when Ichigo died(not like the fight ever made any sense; not once did Ulquiorra -use- his wings, Ichigo's blade was superglued to his hand, Orihime DOING NOTHING to save Uyru, so on).
Have to admit though; the anime was pretty good at the start, not even trying to make any relationships and whatnot. The dub, on the otherhand, got better after the first two/three arcs. It was just terrible at the beginning.

The English release sure fucked things up by putting their own crap all over the place. The company, TV Tokyo I believe, should be one to realize anime is Japanese. Anyone who has a problem with that can go fuck themselves. DON'T FUCK WITH MY ANIME!!!
