Praying so goddam hard it has at least as many characters as MvC2, though, especially with the recent trend of having less characters in fighting games (BlazBlue, KOFXII, etc).

um shinkada blazblue was a new fighter, all new fighters have low character count. kof had no excuse. besides kof and SF have a bunch of clones (tons of ryu clones and tons of kyo clones)

The lower character count in this is brought on the by the fact they're using a new graphics engine for the series. That means everyone needs to be redrawn from scratch and reanimated. That means no more stock sprites for characters like Cap America, and Morrigan, who both desperately needed them. No more 1995 Morrigan animations for us!

I'd rather have quality over quantity, to be honest.
