Given the particular pressure suit the pilot is wearing, this is most likely one of the rocket motor equipped NF-104 Starfighters used by the Air Force when they were training their own astronauts.

Actually, that pressure suit was used more than you think. Navy pilots wore the same thing flying run-of-the-mill A4D's. It would just depend on if the mission required it.
