originally it did mean underage however, its not that "net idiots" are "trying" to change it, it simple IS changing.

If any one groupe could be pointed at it would be japan, they have tons of characters that THEY define as loli yet clearly state as being over 16, or older.

Either way, Shakugan no Shana's characters, at least in the high school, appear to be a bit younger than normal. And since Shana is pretty much immortal anyways, her age is irrelevant. However, consider this as well. The main character(who's name I've just forgotten) had just started high school. That would put the character at maybe 16. Maybe. So technically, still underage.

@xerblade: Its the development of Words. Lolicon means Lolita Complex.. and lolita was just a Girl of some story, if i remember right, who gave the genre its name because of "Type" of this girl. If you ask me, type means in primary point of view, look, behave etc. Dont Forget Shana is lots older than Yuji etc.

Dudes, speaking as a lolicon, as long as she looks young, small and fiiiiiine then who gives a shit about her being over 18. True lolicons imo are into the innnocent and young appearance rather than the age. I'd smash it either way. :-D
