Ummm, Anon? Lucrecia was a little on the dead side so snuggle time would not have helped. ...At least not if Seph was trying to snuggle Lucrecia, hugging someone else might have helped. Besides, Hojo put "Jenova" on the birth certificate so Seph had no idea.

I wonder if his thought processes would eventually be no different from Genesis (knowing how he was created and cursing the thought of it, still turning against Shinra because of it) if he actually knew his real mother. (At least Seph's not a fan of the LOVELESS poem.)

Actually, Lucrecia wasn't actually dead. She tried to kill herself but the Jenova cells wouldn't allow her to die and so she sealed herself way in the crystal out of guilt. Lucrecia has a guilt complex which causes her to do most of what she done, she only went to Hojo because Vincent tried to tell her that his father's death wasn't her fault and she wanted Hojo to comfort her over it. Lucrecia should have done more than what she did, instead of sealing herself away she could have done something else to help Sephiroth whether just being a moral support for him as a scientist at Shinra rather than a mother *if she convinced Hojo to let her close* and then became Sephiroth's mother through that and over time drop hints to him then Sephiroth probably wouldn't have went insane x.x
