Nice, but it'd be better if that were Ruri instead of Ayase IMO.

and I can agree with CDP5280. I love Ruri a lot, me having a fetish for lolis and hime cuts and all

@akuma2002
it's from vol.7 of the light novel series. seanver.com has some guy reviewing it in parts, so I recommend (I really do) reading them, that is if you don't mind spoilers lol

I read the summary and am shocked at where this story is going. I never figured it would be harem-like from the way it starts in the anime and manga. The novels are cannon though I guess, so kyousuke basically will have a shot at every girl in the story even his sister. I really thought he was supposed to be the level-headed guy of the story. The novels make him into a player of sorts. The childhood friend is who I thought he would stay loyal to....guess not.

From the anime there has been no indication at all that Kyousuke has romantic feelings for Manami. He is almost completely unembarrassed when they sleep next to each other. He really means it when he says he thinks of her as an old woman in a young woman's body.

It's me again, person from 12/02/10. Yeah I saw what you are talking about, but in the manga Manami is one of those deceptively cute girls. Meaning short tomboy hair and glasses that hid her looks. But in one of the panels she's dreaming of Kyousuke and as the panels pan down you can see she's got a knockout body with large breasts and bottom. Like those girls who dress down but are really beautiful naked. I guess for the sake of being different and to not bore the reader they made her more appealing in the manga. I don't like hurting girls feelings so stories like this bother me sometimes. Why go to her house and get her hopes up if your not interested in dating (he is 17 I mean). I guess I just figured that the story would revolve around the machinations of the little sister. And Kyousuke would guide us through it all with his quiet, but hot, girlfriend Manami by his side. I figured there would be a point where she grows her hair long and Kirino even helps her with nice outfits and styles. But your points are correct. In the anime, episodes with her in them make her as plain and milquetoast a character as possible. Making her very little threat to the other girls vying for his attention. To conclude the manga will probably follow this trend as well, seeing as how popular incest and loli are in Japan right now (at least based on Sankaku and sites like this I've read).

^Manami was out of the running as soon as volume 3 of the
novels. She rarely appears at all anymore. Sorry, but she is
boring, and the other girls are more interesting. I think she
was replaced by Ruri as Kirino's primary rival, since Ruri is awesome you know.

Anon5: In the light novels, it is outright stated right from the start that Manami is quite the opposite of one of those deceptively cute girls whose glasses hide her looks, and is in fact just as plain when she takes her glasses off as she is with them on. Actually, when Kyousuke first meets Saori, he specifically draws a contrast between Manami and her, stating that, unlike Manami, Saori IS the type who looks good once she takes off her glasses.
