Summary:Sorting by date of tag added
Description:I find that having the most recently uploaded images listed first is quite efficient and convenient for finding new stuff, but tags are not always accurate, and some really, REALLY good images may end up being tagged properly far after their original post date.

The problem lies in that the search results are always ordered by the upload date of the picture rather than the date the particular tag(s) searched for were added.

For users who do not use tags, sorting by upload date is generally most efficient, I assume. However, for users whom do use tags, new images to them may appear relatively far back in the search results (I can do random image searches and update images that were posted years ago - this does not help anyone because the image won't likely be appearing in anyone else's search results) and thus the user could miss out on something quite great.
Additional Info:I suggest this because it seems like an easy fix that would really be quite beneficial. If I am not mistaken, logs are already kept on the time a particular tag was added, and the method for ordering results by date tag added would be no different from date image posted, image size, score, etc.

Of course, having multiple tags in a search would complicate things somewhat. Here are a couple of suggestions:

1) Use the date added of the first tag in the query and omit all others for ordering results.

2) Use the date added of all the tags in the query, ordering results by the most recent date tag added for each image.
Note: Even though this one is preferable in accuracy, the additional load placed on the server may be unreasonable.

I'm sorry if what I am suggesting is redundant or unreasonable, but I find information difficult to come by and have relied solely on observation.

Forgot to mention that sort:updated:desc accomplishes this in similar fashion - except that it orders by all tags instead of just the ones being searched for. This may cause old posts the user has seen to repeatedly appear as new.
