I see this as the MOST FUNDAMENTAL FLAW with the Gelbooru software.

I see three solutions of approaching this severe problem with this site. I believe method one allows for the most rapid uploading as you can upload say 5 images, 7 more, then 10 more, and THEN go to your untagged images and tag them all. You could even have an option to apply one set of tags to selected images and have a checkbox next to each image to apply these and have a button to select all/none.

1) Allow multiple file uploads at once and tag later. Javascript could be used to add new file-upload boxes on the fly like zeldafan.net uses. After the user has uploaded the files, they are then shown thumbnails of all their un-tagged images and allowed to tag them all.

2) Allow multiple file uploads at once and tag now. Like the above except tagging is done before you upload. Javascript could be used to generate this entire file select/tag/name for each file on the fly by clicking on it.

3) Software application solution, though this would alienate some users. I would only suggest this AFTER either option 1 or 2 is addressed.

Definitely definitely definitely.

Especially the thumbnail part. Every time I've uploaded an image, I've had to flip back and forth to see tags I should add.
Also, whole-directory upload.

If these existed, I (and others, I'm sure) would be much more inclined to upload my collection. Currently, it is, as lozertuser descibes, very painful.
