Now Viewing: houjou_tsukasaTag type: Artist Mangaka born on March 5, 1959. He usually works on crime series with roguish yet sympathetic and compassionate protagonists. He is most famous for creating Cat's Eye and the City Hunter series. Although his work is popular in his home country, his work is especially popular outside of Japan, particularly in France, Italy, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. Cat's Eye and City Hunter were enormously successful in France and the former was a big inspiration on the French animated series Totally Spies. He often draws a lot of attractive females in his series with Cat's Eye starring three lovely female protagonists and City Hunter often having its hero Saeba Ryou romance his predominantly female clients. He also mentored mangaka Inoue Takehito and is a good friend of one of the creators of Hokuto no Ken, Hara Tetsuo. Houjou even designed a character, Reina, for the Hokuto no Ken film, Raoh Den Junai no Shou.
