He has consistently failed at getting into Tokyo University, and he is often derided as a loser by others for this reason. However, he refuses to give up on this goal because he intends to keep a childhood promise he made to a female friend of his. He is a kind young man, but he has the unfortunate luck of consistently being mistaken for a pervert by the girls at Hinata Inn. Nevertheless, his compassion and determination gradually win the girls over. He is also nearly invulnerable; no matter how much slapstick physical abuse he suffers, he never suffers any serious injuries, a trait that causes the girls to believe he is immortal. Series creator Akamatsu Ken bears a strong resemblance to him and Keitaro is partially based off of himself. He is voiced by Ueda Yuji.
