She is a nice woman who welcomes Tomoya into the family and is willing to help him. Although she is a decent cook, she is not a good baker, and her bread is often insulted by her husband Akio causing her to run out of the bakery in tears. Nevertheless, the two have a strong and loving relationship and she too has a flair for overdramatic reacting much like her husband. The Kyoto Animation anime adaptation of CLANNAD suggests that she may be friends with Minase Akiko as she managed to get ahold of a strange jam much like Akiko's infamous jam.
