Now Viewing: gamagoori_iraTag type: Character A muscular high school student with blonde hair and tan skin from the show Kill_la_Kill. Although he is still in high school, he is actually 20 years old, which is why he looks older than most of the other characters. He is a very tall man who towers over everyone else in the series. Gamagouri is the Disciplinary Committee Chair of the Hounnoji Academy Student Council, a group led by Kiryuuin_Satsuki and bent on defeating and subjugating, Matoi_Ryuuko. He admires Satsuki so much that he intentionally put off graduating from high school so that he can serve her. He is an intense and intimidating individual who, like his fellow council members, takes his position and his loyalty to Lady Satsuki seriously. Thus, he sticks to the rules of the Academy very closely. He has no qualms about expelling, beating, or possibly even killing students who dare besmirch the name of Hounnoji or defy Lady Satsuki. He is also a masochist and his uniform transformation is based off of bondage. After he transforms, he becomes stronger the more he gets hit and derives pleasure from the hits he endures. If he gets hit enough times, he undergoes a second transformation that makes him even more powerful. He uses a whip as his main weapon. He is one of the few people who can make some kind of sense out of Mako's ramblings and at times seems to have a similar train of thought as her. While he is perfectly willing to brutally punish disobedient students, he has a soft spot for Mako and is more reluctant to harm her even when she is breaking Honnouji's regulations. His noticeable soft spot for Mako has spawned a great deal of fan art portraying the two of them as a couple. Kill la Kill in general has an exaggerated animation style where characters will intentionally be drawn much larger and taller than they normally are in some shots. This technique is most often applied to Gamagoori to the point that his size fluctuates from scene to scene. In some shots, he merely appears to be as tall as an average basketball player, but in other shots, he appears to be a giant whose torso alone is bigger than his classmates' bodies. In any case, he is always taller than every other character in the series. His name also sounds like the word gorilla when said very quickly, a reference to his massive size. His theme song is the first half of goriLLA蛇L, composed by Sawano Hiroyuki. He is voiced by Inada_Tetsu.
