Now Viewing: gray_foxTag type: Character A white haired man who is one of the supporting characters in the Metal Gear franchise. However, his most well known appearance is his appearance in Metal Gear Solid where he has a cyborg body and wears mask that completely covers his face except for two eye slits and a glowing light in the middle. In the first Metal Gear game, he is a hostage Snake must rescue but doesn't get a lot of development beyond that. Starting from Metal Gear 2, his character is more fleshed out. He is a close friend of Solid Snake and grew up on the battlefield. He has been fighting in battles ever since he was a young boy. However, he feels deeply indebted to Snake's superior Big Boss even as Snake's relationship with Big Boss sours because Big Boss had saved him when he was a young boy. His loyalty to Big Boss is strong enough that he joins Big Boss's cause and shares Big Boss's disillusionment with the American government. In Fox's case, it was because of the American government's refusal to grant his Czech lover Gustava Heffner asylum. Gray Fox siding with Big Boss soon drives him into conflict with his friend Snake and the two of them end up dueling to the death on a minefield. Snake wins the duel and Fox apparently dies. . . Six years later, while Snake is infiltrating Shadow Moses, he is shocked to discover that Fox has survived his battle with Snake. Fox has been given a cyborg body giving him super speed and strength. He has also become skilled with using a sword. Despite this increase in power, Fox is worse off mentally than he was before. He was retrieved from the battlefield on Zanzibarland and became the subject of painful and dehumanizing experiments turning him into the cyborg ninja. Although Fox is capable in combat, he will sometimes be struck with bouts of intense pain that almost incapacitate him and beg for the drugs that are supposed to suppress his pain. Fox has no affiliation with Liquid Snake and co. and is pursuing his own goals. He specifically wants Solid Snake to finish him off for good, but Snake is reluctant to kill his friend and former comrade. He also appears as an assist in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. He is voiced by Kaneto_Shiozawa (Metal Gear Solid) and Fukuyama_Jun (Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops) In English, he is voiced by Greg Eagles (Metal Gear Solid), Rob Paulsen (The Twin Snakes, Metal gear Solid 4), and Larc Spies (Metal gear Solid Portable Ops).
