He is one of the earliest antagonists fought in the series, but in spite of opposing Naruto and co, he is actually a rather emphatic person, going out of his way to avoid killing even though he is a formidable fighter. He is very devoted to Zabuza who took him in as a young boy and trained him to become the formidable ninja he is in the series. He is voiced by Asano Mayumi.
