The soundtrack is composed by Yoshikawa Yoichiro. It ran from June 23, 1994 to November 21, 1994. It is an anime prequel to the live action Zeiram films when protagonist Iria was still a rookie bounty hunter. Unlike the live action films, the anime OVA takes place on other planets besides Earth so it features more alien landscapes and futuristic technology, and subsequently larger scale battles with both Iria and Zeiram making use of the aforementioned elements to take each other out. Iria accompanies her older brother and experienced bounty hunter Glen and his partner Bob on a rescue mission in a hijacked spaceship named Karma. The mission immediately goes wrong once they discover the 'hijacker' is really the near invincible alien Zeiram, which has just broken free and killed many of the ship's crew members. Iria and a mortally wounded Bob escape, but Glen stays behind fighting a losing battle against Zeiram. Iria's troubles continue to pile up after she returns to her home planet Myce. She finds herself fighting for her life while being pursued by both Tedan Teppedai, a company that owns the Karma and believes she knows too much about the Zeiram project, and Zeiram itself. It has also been adapted into a side-scrolling SNES game called Hyper Iria by Banpresto.
