Now Viewing: kakihara_tetsuyaTag type: Character 柿原 徹也 Male voice actor born on December 24, 1982. Unlike many Japanese seiyuu, he was actually born and raised in Dusseldorf, West Germany. He watched quite a few Japanese TV shows and anime and read manga while he was still in Germany and became interested in going to Japan to both live there and become a voice actor. In 2001 he flew from Germany to Japan just so he could study at the voice acting school Amusement Media Academy. Thanks to this background, he is able to fluently speak German, which he used in his roles as Lævateinn and Graf Eisen in the Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha franchise. He made his voice acting breakthrough with the role of Simon from Tengen_Toppa_Gurren_Lagann. He often plays passionate and fiery young men, both heroic and villainous. He has also voice acted in quite a few yaoi drama CDs and OVAs.
