Unlike most of the other main characters, Kyousuke is not an anime/manga/game fan, but he doesn't discriminate against such fans for their hobbies. At the start of the story, he expresses dislike towards his younger sister Kirino, but after he inadvertently stumbles upon her hobby, the two have a natural conversation for the first time in years. After Kirino admits her love anime/manga/eroges, Kyousuke resolves to help his sister out by getting her in touch with other people who share her hobbies and defending her from others. Although he is often annoyed with Kirino's attitude, he sacrifices a lot for her sake. He has an ambiguous relationship with his childhood friend Tamura Manami, which is pointed out by Kyousuke's classmate, Akagi Kouhei. On one hand, Kyousuke always describes Manami in very glowing terms but he claims that he does not want to date her. On the other hand, he does not want anyone to date Manami. He is on very good terms with Gokou Ruri, who is one of the otaku girls Kirino becomes involved with. Although Kirino and Ruri frequently clash with each other, Ruri gets along very well with Kyousuke and takes a liking to him. He is voiced by Nakamura_Yuuichi.
